Gracey H. Mcintrye

Obituary: Mrs. Gracey H. McIntyre, 94, of Kannapolis, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Transitional Healthcare. She was born August 12, 1922 in Chesterfield, SC to the late Ellet Williams and Jessie and Mary Tarlton Grooms. Gracey loved fishing, loved children and cared for many children throughout her lifetime, she also loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Ben McIntyre, a grandson Johnny Ray McIntyre, a brother Jake Tarlton, two sisters Volise Grooms and Viola Dunn. Those left to cherish her memory, her children Benny McIntyre (Virginia) of China Grove, Ellane Huffman of Kannapolis, Jerry McIntyre of China Grove, Johnny McIntyre of China Grove, Jack McIntyre (Dolly) of Kannapolis, Buffy Allman (Eric) of China Grove, brother, David Rudolph Grooms, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday Nov. 29 at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor George Morris officiating, burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM Tuesday at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Friendship Freewill Baptist Church, 509 West 22nd Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
