Grady Ross, Jr.

Grady Ross, Jr.,80, peacefully passed away Thursday afternoon, March 3, 2022, at Kiser Hospice House.

Born March 23, 1941, in Concord, he was a son of the late Grady Ross, Sr. and Lillie Clinton Ross.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

A graduate of A.L. Brown High, Grady continued his education, receiving a full scholarship and graduating with a BA in business administration from Catawba College. He had honorably served his country with the US Army and had retired from Cone Mills after more than 20 years of service.  Mr. Ross was an active member of Southside Church of God, and enjoyed music, singing, church, his church family and loved to fish. Although in a much better place today, Grady will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family members include his devoted wife, Gloria J. Ross; his children, Beth Ross Kenerly (Doodle), Robert Ross and Robert Smith (Maggie); brother, Tony Ross; his baby sister, Rachel; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:30 pm Monday, March 7, 2022, at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. Funeral services will begin at 3:30 in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Rev. Dr. Joyce Miles. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, 601 Mt. Olivet Rd., Concord, NC., with military graveside rites.
