Grady Thomas Wilhoit, Jr.

Obituary: Mr. Grady Thomas Wilhoit, Jr., 73, of China Grove, NC went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Salisbury following a period of declining health. Grady was born September 13, 1941 in Rowan County, NC a son of the late Grady T. Wilhoit, Sr. and the late Irene Hinson Wilhoit. He attended South China Grove Baptist Church and was employed at China Grove Cotton Mill, retiring in 1995 due to ill health. He also worked on lawn mowers for many years. Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Jeff Cole. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. At other times they will be at the residence. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Medley Wilhoit in 1998 and a son, Roger Dale Wilhoit on January 31, 1963. Survivors include five children, Crystal Chen (Hue) of China Grove, Pam Stiller of Salisbury, Jamie Cook (Bryan) of China Grove, Grady T.Wilhoit, III (Cynthia) of Landis and Rodney Wilhoit (Heather) of Kannapolis. He is also survived by seven brothers and sisters; Frances, Jean, Lucille, Bernice, Dowd, George and Bill. Fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie and Robert and one sister, Maxine. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the Wilhoit family.
