Gregory Neal Mccravey

Obituary: Gregory N. McCravey, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Novant Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC after enduring a serious illness for several years. He was born July 18, 1951 in Wake County, NC, the son of the late George McCravey and Mollie Bailey McCravey Allen. Greg was employed with Titcomb Construction Company, Charlotte, NC for twenty-nine years. He loved to play golf especially with his dear friend, Don, going to Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC on many occasions. He also loved listening to blues music and making quality time to ride with his son, Anthony, sight-seeing various places. He came from a very close-knit family enjoying family gatherings and his mother's cooking. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Mike Hubbard. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include his wife of twenty-nine years, Lori Scotto McCravey; his son, Anthony N. McCravey; and two daughters from a previous marriage, Tammy and Debra; five sisters, Loraine McCravey Ratliffe, Brenda Ogden Hendershot; Cynthia McCravey Cross; Debra McCravey; and Patricia Starr; two brothers, George McCravey and Ted William Allen; and special friends, Don, Jerry, Kevin, and Gordon.
