Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Gregory Lee Rumple, age 68, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at his home after a lengthy period of declining health. His body was donated to Wake Forest School of Medicine. He was born December 27, 1948 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of the late Jethro Lee Rumple and Alva Louise Pressley Rumple. Greg was a 1967 graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School and a 1969 graduate of Lees-McRae College with an engineering degree. Greg worked for L.R. Gorrell, East Coast Metal, and Hahn-Mason, all located in Charlotte, NC where he spent all of his career as a sales representative. He loved to play billiards, golf, and loved to fish and hunt as special hobbies throughout his life. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, April 13, 2017 at The Refuge, 230 Refuge Way, Kannapolis, NC 28081 officiated by Rev. Jay Stewart. There will be a drop-in for family and friends at his home, 6175 Pagemont Road, Kannapolis, NC from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm Saturday, April 1, 2017 to reminisce about his life.
