Harold " Harry " Harrington

Obituary: Mr. Harold " Harry " Boyce Harrington, Jr., 78,a resident of Harrisburg, N.C. since 1986, and a native of Yonkers, N.Y. passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 in Harrisburg, N.C. He was born June 26, 1938 in Mt Pleasant, New York, son of Catherine Forshaw and Harold Boyce Harrington, Sr. Harry was one of seven children. He worked in New York City as an iron worker, then moved to a position with Rhinebeck County Schools in New York. After moving to Charlotte, N.C. he formed Hofmann-Harrington Construction Inc. and finished his life at Overcash Gravel and Grading Co. in Concord. Harry was a loving and loyal husband and a devoted father, grandfather and great- grandfather. He cherished any opportunity to go fishing at the beach with his family. He will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly and grandson Jarrod. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia, his siblings Bruce, Richard, Donald, Elaine and Robert and his children, Harry ( Shirley ), Kim ( Efrem ), Glen, Raymond, ( Joyce ) Michael, ( Noreen ), David and Shari, ( Bill ). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a Memorial Service at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Hubbard officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. prior to the service.
