Harold Eugene Isenhour, age 92, also known as “Ike” (in the community) & Daddy or Papa (in the family) went peacefully to be with his heavenly father on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at The Tucker Hospice House following a brief illness. He was born on December 23, 1930, at his home in Cabarrus County, NC, son of Floyd & Myrtle Isenhour.
He was a life-long resident of Kannapolis having graduated from Winecoff High School, Class of 1949, where he still enjoyed attending the yearly class reunions. Harold retired after many years from the former Cannon Mills Company. He was a Mason and a volunteer fire fighter for Kannapolis for many years and achieved the rank of Fire Chief. He was a member of Shady Brook Baptist Church in Kannapolis for 75 years. He enjoyed fellowshipping at Lunch Plus Club & listening to blue grass music. His passions were farming and gardening. He enjoyed spending time with his family & friends. He is known for cooking the best meals, especially from his own vegetables, and giving the best advice.
The family will receive friends at Whitley’s Funeral Home from 1 - 2pm on Wednesday July 19 with the funeral service at 2:00pm in the main chapel, officiated by Pastor Mikey Lambert. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Concord, NC
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 60 years, Vera Henderson Isenhour, brother - Elbert Isenhour & grandson Kyle Hendrix.
Survivors include: Two daughters: Christy I Jones (late James Jones), Kathy I Hall (Terry), all of Kannapolis, Two grandchildren: Jason Hall (Cindy) of Kannapolis, Kara Smith (Tim) of Landis, Three great-grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Kaleb Hall (Leah) & Ali Smith, One great, great grandchild: Amelia Hall, One brother: Howard Isenhour of Sanford, NC and a number of special nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to send special thanks to the Atrium Health-Cabarrus staff on the Cardiac Critical Care unit, the staff at the Tucker Hospice House, his former fire fighter brothers that visited and special friend, Pearl Graham.
