Harold Alexander Price

Obituary: Harold Alexander Price, 81, of Kannapolis went to be with his Lord on July 11, 2013 at Universal Health Care, Concord following a period of declining health. He was born March 22, 1932 in Rowan County, son of the late Oscar Alexander and Mary Armor Brown Price. Harold was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a graduate of Cannon High School and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He retired as owner/operator of Jordan Oil Company as a gas station operator after 36 years of service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a great grandson, Dalton Brown and a brother, Kenneth Price. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Sue Kirk and husband Jeff, two grandchildren, Jimmy (Marie) Brown and Shane (Tracy) Brown, two step grandchildren, Shane (Jennifer) Kirk and Ashley Kirk. Also surviving are six great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Bea Price and special friends, Peggy Barnette and Vickie Auston. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Don Burleyson. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M. prior to the service. They will also receive friends at the home of a grandson, Jimmy Brown, 4021 Old Salisbury-Concord Road Saturday from 2:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church, 3008 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
