Obituary: Harold L. Stamey, 90, of Kannapolis, passed away, December 26, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House. He was born February 17, 1928 in Iredell Co. to the late Robert Lee Stamey and Jennie Wallace Stamey. Harold was a member of First Baptist Church of Enochville, where he served as deacon of the church, Sunday School Director, Training Union Director, and Coached Little League Baseball for the YMCA for 25 Years. He worked for Cannon Mills for 40 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine C. Stamey, brothers; Millard Ray Stamey, Ted Albert Stamey, Gerry Stamey, sisters; Hilda Lee Allman, and Jackie Ballard, one granddaughter, Melanie Apple. Those left to cherish his memory, sons, Richard L. Stamey of Kannapolis, Dr. Dennis L. Stamey (Carol) of Richmond, VA, one daughter Sheila S. Reid of Kannapolis, nine grandchildren; Ronald L. Stamey, Richard B. Stamey (Nikki), Christopher Ryan Stamey, Jason B. Stamey, R. Anthony Stamey, Ashlyn E. Stamey, Carissa H. Kiser (David), Derek L. Stamey (Melissa), Aaron M. Robbins (Miranda), 8 Great grandchildren; Noah (Kylie) Stamey, Logan Stamey, Emma Grace Kiser, Krissy A. Wrenn (Dustin), Anna Stamey, Kyle Stamey, Laura Stamey, Melanie Robbins, Gannon Losey, and Nolan Robbins, Braxton Robbins, and great-great grandchild; Karsyn Wrenn. He is also survived by two sisters Bernice Elaine Beaver of Kannapolis, and Brenda K. Stamey of Florida. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 29, at the First Baptist Church of Enochville, with Dr. Dennis L. Stamey and Rev. Lewis Whittington officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 PM Saturday prior to the service at the church.
