Harold W. Steele

Obituary: Harold Winford Steele, 69, of Concord passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at his home. He was born January 27, 1946 in Cincinatti, Ohio, the son of the late Roy and Linda Collins Steele. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela. Harold was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Vietnam War. He was a purple heart recipient. He retired as general manager of OneSource, Inc. In his earlier years, he loved to fish and hunt. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert D. Howard officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park with military honors by the Army National Guard and the Rowan County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Monday at Whitley's. He is survived by his wife, Rita Funderburk Steele, daughters, Tracy and Tobi of Ohio, step children, Angela Smith (Jim), Zach Harwell (Tina) and Ashlyn Holtzen (Kale), step-grandchildren, Shai Smith, Jaidin Smith, Chase Martin, Ethan Smith, Ryley Holtzen and one on the way later this month, Keira Holtzen, his sister, Irene Thornton (Doug), nieces, Linda (Patrick), Sandra (Ray) and a nephew, Steve (Robin).
