Harold Twitty

Obituary: Harold James Twitty, 72, died Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Carolina Specialty Hospital in Charlotte. Harold was born October 12, 1942 in Cabarrus County to the late Eli and Bertha Twitty. He worked in the construction business through the years. Harold was a member of Friendship Baptist Church; He enjoyed college sports like football and basketball. He loved Duke but liked Carolina. Survivors include his daughter, Sherry Severt of Kannapolis; a son, Eric Twitty of Concord; grandchildren, Angel Severt, Brian Smith (Jennifer), Taylor Twitty, and Jordan Twitty; two great-grandchildren, Lexie Smith and Tristen Smith; a brother, Mike Twitty (Sharon) of Harrisburg; three sisters, Linda Barringer of Kannapolis, Carol Rogers (Gerald) of Kannapolis, and Shelia Weant (David) of Concord. Harold was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Twitty and Richard Twitty. A funeral service 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 9, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phil Bennett Officiating. Burial will follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
