Obituary: Harold Neal Walker Sr, 92, passed away on June 6, 2017 at his home. He was born December 10, 1924 in Kannapolis, the son of the late Charles and Edna Barnhardt Walker. He was a graduate of W.R. Odell High School where he was a student school bus driver. A devoted Christian, he was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, where he participated in the W.J. Bullock Sunday School Class. For 35 years, he worked in the Electric Shop at the former Cannon Mills Company. After retirement, he and his wife delivered Meals On Wheels for ten years. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl Walker and Herman Walker. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Aline Plyler Walker; son Neal Walker (Ann) of Denver, NC; grandchildren, Kevin (Deanna) Walker of Denver, NC, Jennifer Walker of Tampa, Florida; and great-granddaughter, Addison Walker. A service to celebrate Harold's life will be held at 2 PM Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, Kannapolis officiated by Rev. Kirk Tutterow. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends, from 12:30 to 2pm at Whitley's, prior to the service.
