Obituary: Harold Walker Wyatt, 87, of Kannapolis died Tuesday, March 1, 2016. He was born May 8, 1928 in High Point, the son of the late John Walker Wyatt and Mamie Furr Wyatt. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Weldon Wyatt, a son-in-law, Dale Hyner and a brother-in-law, Harold Simpson. Harold retired from Cannon Mills as a senior chemist. He was a graduate of High Point College with a Chemistry degree. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War 1952-54. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was an usher, deacon and Sunday school teacher for 50 years. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Dr. Tom Cabaniss and Rev. David Wyatt. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 PM prior at Whitley's. Harold is survived by his wife, Murline Simpson Wyatt, son, David Harold Wyatt (Jody) of Monroe, daughter, Karen W. Hyner of Kannapolis, 3 grandchildren, Paige Hyner Jackson, Catherine Hyner, Rivka Hyner Darwactor, three great grandchildren, Laila Starr McKnight, Arianna England, Tristan Darwactor and sister-inlaw, Lucy Simpson, niece Joy Tesh (Don)and several nieces and nephews.
