Harriet Elizabeth (Adams) Yates

Harriet Adams Yates, 71, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Atrium Health Cabarrus after a brief period of declining health.

A memorial service to remember and celebrate Harriet’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 13 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Vickers officiating. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Monday prior to her memorial service.

Harriet was born June 13, 1948 in Kannapolis, the daughter of the late James Edward Adams and Mrs. Imogene Crainshaw Adams of Kannapolis. She was a graduate of J.W. Cannon High School and attended North Kannapolis Baptist Church. In earlier years, Harriet worked for Suma’s women’s apparel in Kannapolis as a buyer and then was a home maker and mother for her son.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Adam Yates of Kansas City MO and her mother, Mary Crainshaw Adams of Kannapolis and her brother, Jimmy Adams (Gay).. She was a loving mother and daughter and will be deeply missed.
