Harriett was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved traveling and spending time with her family. She has always been a fun-loving person who enjoyed having a good time. Her strength and character have been and will always be an inspiration to her family. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Salisbury, a former member of the K-Town Vagabonds Travel Club, and a retiree of Corriher Mills in Landis. She was loved and will certainly be missed by all who knew her. "God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not meant to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered, 'Come unto me.' With tearful eyes we watched you suffer, and saw you fall away. Although we couldn't bear to lose you, we could not ask you to stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands laid to rest God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best." Her celebration of life service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, at the Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis with Dr. Jack Darida officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A meal will follow the service in the event center. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in China Grove where she will be laid to rest beside the love of her life, "Britt." The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Harriett's special caregiver, Diane Reardon. No flowers are requested.
