Harry Barr

Obituary: Harry Lee Barr, 82, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House. Mr. Barr was born December 6, 1932 in Mecklenburg, NC to the late James Edward Barr and Rosa Cauthen Barr. Harry did HVAC work in construction until his retirement and he was a U.S. Army Veteran in Fort Knox, KY in the early years. Harry was married to the late Linda Barr who preceded him in 2006. Survivors include his son, Harry Lee Barr, III (Karen) of Clover, SC; a daughter, Sandra Neal (Liles) of Concord, NC; five grandchildren, Liles Neal, Jr., Christopher Neal, Brandon Barr, Brooke Barr, Sara Beth Barr; a brother, William Barr; three sisters, Betty Dabbs, Lucy Martin, and Carol Waggoner. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Harry Lee Barr, Jr. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Whitley's Annex Chapel with the Rev. Mike Hubbard officiating. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will be private. Memorials can be made to the Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House 5003 Hospice Lane Kannapolis, NC 28081.
