Obituary: Harry Lee Carter, 82, of Kannapolis passed away on May 17, 2019. He was born May 25, 1936 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late William Lester Carter and Carrie Hampton Carter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Carter and granddaughter, Madison Chappell. Harry retired from Cannon Mills after many years. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of Centerview Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Centerview Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Willie Rash. Burial will follow at National Cemetery in Salisbury at 1:00 PM with military honors. His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Monday at Whitley's Funeral Home. Harry is survived by his daughter, Tia Carter Bartlett and husband, Justin Bruce, grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Amethyst, MacKenzie and his sister, Martha Metcalf.
