Harry Lee Litaker

Obituary: Harry Lee Litaker, 84, peacefully passed away on March 25, 2015 at his home. He was born on January 15, 1931 in Cabarrus County, NC, son of the late TC and Annie Whitley Litaker. Harry graduated from Winecoff High School in 1949, served in Korean Police Action, named Shriner of the year in 1978, was Scout Leader for Troup 36 at Mt. Olivet UMC for 12 years, received Silver Beaver award in 1978, was a ham radio operator, private pilot, and avid animal lover, worked for Cannon Mills and Fieldcrest Cannon until retirement. He owned and operated Litaker Photography Studio for 25 years. Surviving are wife of 64 years Joan Melchor Litaker, son Harry Litaker, Jr. and wife Jennifer, daughter Tamara Litaker Gamble and husband Glenn; two grandchildren Elisabeth and Kristin; two great grandchildren; brother Rae Litaker and wife Louis, sister Nancy Litaker Felker and husband Roger. Three brothers and three sisters precede him in death. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Flow Harris Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Billy Jolley. The family will greet friends at the church from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. prior to service. Memorials can be made to Flow Harris Presbyterian Church, 308 Winecoff School Road, Concord.
