Obituary: Harry Carl Morgan, 77, of Kannapolis died Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House after a brief period of declining health. Harry will lie in state at Whitley's Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 12 and from 12:00 to 12:45 PM Tuesday, March 13, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 PM Tuesday, at Carolina Memorial Park. Harry was born April 12, 1940 in West Virginia a son of the late Earl and Bertha Hager Morgan. In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by 5 brothers, 1 sister and his son, Steven Morgan and his step-son, Steve Weatherford. A longtime area resident, Harry owned and operated Morgan's Garage in Landis. He retired in 2004. Harry enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his lawn mower and watching CNN. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 35 years, Betty Stratton Morgan of the home and his son, Jeff Morgan (Tina) of China Grove, one step-son, Tommy Weatherford (JoAlice) of Salisbury,3 step-daughters; Cathy Mishak, Bonnie Craven and Shirley Winstead, all of Kannapolis and step-daughter in law, Deb Weatherford of Salisbury, 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, 2 brothers; Gale and Glenn Morgan, both of WV and many other beloved relatives.
