Harry Spencer Walter, 95, of Concord, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 23, 2022.
Harry was born on June 3, 1927 in Rowan County to the late Allie Franklin Walter Sr. and Mary Sloop Walter.
Harry honorably served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Harry spent his career as a machine operator and was retired from Crowder Construction. He was a faithful member of Concord Wesleyan Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mavis Elaine Livingstone; brothers, Lee Walter, Monroe Walter, James Walter, A.F. Walter Jr., and Bobby Walter, and a sister, Eva Adams.
Those left to cherish his memory include two sisters-in-law, Emma Walter and Betty Walter; and two brothers in law, Ed (Hazel) Maag and Larry (Gillian) Livingstone, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service honoring Harry’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 27, 2022 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chris Carlyle officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Wesleyan Church, 2295 Barnhardt Avenue NW, Concord, NC 28027.
