Harvey Sharpe

Obituary: Harvey E. Sharpe, 82, passed away Monday evening, April 16, 2018, at Tucker Hospice House. Born September 16, 1935 in Mecklenburg County, he was a son of the late John William Franklin Sharpe and Marie Osborne Sharpe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his previous wife, Maizie Hubbard Sharpe. Mr. Sharpe had been a truck driver for more than 42 years and had retired from Billings Trucking. He was an Atlanta Braves fan and earlier, enjoyed dirt racing. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Harvey will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Family members include his wife, Nancy Juanita Sharpe; his son, Randy Sharpe (Earlene); step daughters, Cathy Mullis (Kevin) and Monica Blackwelder (Robert); brother, Jimmy Sharpe; his grandchildren, Randy Sharpe, Jr., William Harvey Sharpe and fiancee', Christine and Jennifer Sharpe Beckham and husband, Joey; 4 step-grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 pm Friday, April 20th at Whitley's Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Andrew Shoger, Pastor, Coddle Creek ARP. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
