Obituary: Hattie Doris (Dot) Tarleton Nesbitt, age 84, went to her Heavenly Home on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Transitional Health Services, Kannapolis, NC. She was born October 7, 1932 in Anson County, NC, the daughter of the late Bundy B. Tarleton, Sr. and Lizzie Kate Griffin Tarleton. Dot graduated from the former Winecoff High School. She married her husband, James, on December 4, 1955. Throughout her life she enjoyed many interests: being a cosmetologist, a pianist, was a lifetime avid reader, loved her church, and was formerly active in the Order of the Eastern Star organization in Kannapolis. She was also thought of highly for encouraging her nieces and nephews in their pursuits in life. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Mike Collins. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James (Jim) Lamar Nesbitt, a resident of the same facility; a canine child named "Peanut"; a sister, Verna Lee Tarleton Davis of Lantana, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
