Hazel Ruth Bonkowski

Obituary: Hazel Ruth Bonkowski, 86, of 135 Westover Ave. Kannapolis, NC died Thursday Oct. 8, 2009 at CMC NorthEast. She was born January 21, 1923 in Rowan County the daughter of the late Filbert M. and Lucy Brown Hedrick. She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen Bonkowski in 1998. She retired from Cannon Mills Spinning Room. She was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Friday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Mike Edwards. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 on Friday. She is survived by 3 sons: Larry G. Bonkowski and wife Lisa of Lancaster, SC, Ronald S. Bonkowski and wife Judy of Concord and Teddy Wayne Smith of Columbia, SC, her three grandchildren: Tina Tuner, Kim Deal, and Rachel Smith.
