Obituary: Kannapolis, NCHazel Darolene Sweatt Cline, 84, of Kannapolis died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House following a period of declining health. She was born May 30, 1927 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Raleigh Newton and Ruby Olive Smart Sweatt.Mrs. Cline was a member of Royal Oaks United Methodist Church for 53 years where she had served as a Sunday school teacher for many years and was an active member of the UMW, Salisbury District. She was a member of OES Chapter # 349 where she had served as Past Worthy Matron. Prior to retirement she was employed as a supervisor at Terry Products. She was a volunteer with the Cooperative Christian Ministry for nineteen years. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Royal Oaks United Methodist Church conducted by the Revs' Millie Orbison, Greg Gordon and Jesse Rogers. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home Monday, November 14, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. At other times they will be at the family residence.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl M. Cline, Sr. who died September 19, 2005.Survivors include two daughters, Kathy C. Allman and husband Donald, Vickie C. Weant and husband Chris, one son, Sonny Cline and wife Becky. Four grandchildren: Katie Weant, Andy Weant, Josh Cline, and Chris Cline. One greatgrandchild, Jacob Rogers. She is also survived by a brother, Paul Sweatt, two sisters, Lujean Faggart and Joyce Sweatt, two sister's in Law, Joann and Sue Sweatt, a special nephew, Robert Sweatt and special caregivers, Teena Donaldson and Sydney May and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thanks to the nursing staff at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House for the love and care given to Mrs. Cline during her illness.Memorials may be sent to Cooperative Christian Ministry, 246 Country Club Drive, Concord, NC 28025: Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Drive, Kannapolis, NC 28083 or to Royal Oaks United Methodist Church, 1020 Kansas Street, Kannapolis NC 28083.
