Obituary: Hazeline Carter Lord, 92, of Kannapolis passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Big Elm Nursing Center. She was born March 5, 1922 in Mecklenburg County, the daughter of the late William Newton Carter and Julia Roseanne Honeycutt Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Lord in 1993. Hazeline retired from Cannon Mills where she worked at Plant 1 #7 spinning room. She was a faithful member of Bethel Wesleyan Church. She had been involved in many church activities including working in the church nursery, OutReach programs through the church and various hospitality work at the church, such as preparing funeral meals for members. She loved to cook for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Bethel Wesleyan Church officiated by Pastor Joe Harding and Rev. David Lord. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4:00 PM at the church. She is survived by her two sons, Rev. David Thomas Lord (Gwen) of Wilmington and Timothy Dale Lord (Patricia) of China Grove, 5 grandchildren; Jennifer Mahaley (Michael), Luke Lord, Katie Dagenhart (Patrick), Megan Petersen (Lucas) and Lauren Urban (Steve), 6 great grandchildren; Callie, Logan and Parker Mahaley, Samuel Lord, Marlee Dagenhart and Hadley Urban, and her sister, Helen Davis of China Grove.
