Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Helen Denton Agnello, age 79, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC after a period of declining health. She was born August 31, 1936 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late James Denton and Ebba Victoria Landis Denton. In earlier years Helen was a licensed registered nurse living in the Niagara Falls, NY area. There, she was a former director of nursing at Memorial Hospital in Niagara Falls. Also, she and her late husband owned & operated the Deveaux Manor nursing home in western New York. After moving to Florida in later years, they also owned the Ocean Lodge Motel in Juno Beach, FL and Wash Towne Coin Laundry in Jupiter, FL. They moved to Kannapolis to live in 2001. Helen loved her church family and attended Harvest Community Church, Concord, NC for the last five years. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Harvest Community Church, Concord, NC officiated by Pastor Jeff Burris. Burial will be at a later date. The family will also receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday at the church prior to the service. Survivors include her daughter, Suzanne L. Agnello-Davis & husband, Yaari Davis and grandson, Sebat Davis, all of Kannapolis, NC; her son, James Denton Agnello & wife, Trina Agnello and granddaughter, Gabriella Agnello, all of Concord, NC; step-sons, Michael & Robert Agnello, both of New York & Gary Agnello of Florida; two sisters, Lucille Sheedy of Clearwater, FL and Margaret Diez of Niagara Falls, NY; and her dog, "Maggie," a faithful companion for many years and "Max," her boy dog, whom she rescued. Flowers are strongly encouraged because of Helen's love for them, but memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
