Helen Sasser Barnhardt

Obituary: Helen Irene Sasser Barnhardt, 85, of Kannapolis passed away on June 23, 2017. She was born February 27, 1932 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Lee Anders Sasser and Isabelle Carithers Sasser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Alexander Barnhardt a son, Dennis Wayne Messmer and a brother, Henry Sasser. Helen adored her family and loved going to the beach. She had formerly worked at Cannon Mills #5 Weave Room for many years. She retired early to care for of her husband's health issues. She was a faithful member of Genesis Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 26, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Gene Edwards. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 PM prior at Whitley's. Helen is survived by two daughters, Deborah Victory of China Grove and Donna Nicholson (Craig) of Salisbury, 6 grandchildren, Ashley, Amy, Brian, Kristen, Lindsey and Brittany and 7 great grandchildren.
