Helen Butts

Obituary: Helen Daughtery Butts, 90, of China Grove went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 27, 2015 at St. Andrew's Nursing Center, Concord. She had been in declining health but death was unexpected. Helen was born November 12, 1925 in Rowan County, NC a daughter of the late Ira Daughtery and Minnie Spears Daughtery. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Autry Butts who died March 7, 2015. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to shop and play the piano. Helen also enjoyed fishing from the Holden Beach pier. She had served as pianist for Landis Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she held her church membership. Survivors include a son, Ronald Butts (Barbara) of Sparta, granddaughter, Vonda Butts Witherspoon (Tony) of Wilmington, grandson, Randal Butts (Beverly) of Salisbury, five great grandchildren and two great great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Landis Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Ritchie Honeycutt. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00P.M.-7:00 P.M. prior to the service. At other times they will be at the home of Randal and Beverly Butts of Salisbury. Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 30,, 2015 at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC.
