Obituary: Helen Louise (Penny) Livingston Cole, formerly of Concord, died Friday, September 11, 2009 at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House following a short illness. She was born in Alabama City, Alabama daughter of the late James and Ester Mooney Livingston. She was a homemaker and a military wife. She was an active member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church where she was a member of the Legion of Mary and the visitation ministry. She also was a member of the V.F.W. Poston-Perkins Post 8989 Ladies' Auxillary. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Louis Franklin Cole, Jr. on July 23, 2009; a Daughter: Carolyn Jean Cole and a Grandson: Zachary Paul Montognese, four sisters and one brother. She is survived by four daughters: Judy Ann Montognese of Mt. Holly, NC. , Janice Marie Montognese and husband Mark of Longmont, Co., Jane Gray Montognese and husband Tony of Cornelius, NC. and Michele Cole Barnhardt and husband Devon of Concord. She is also survived by two Sons: Louis Franklin Cole, III and wife Judy of Concord, and John Louis Cole of Concord. She was the beloved grandmother of thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Jimmy Livingston of Charlotte. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M.Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel. Rev. Joseph Dionne, C.Ss.R. will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, September 14, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 P.M. A Rosary service will be held.Interment will follow in St. James Catholic Church Cemetery. The family will be at their respective residences at other times. Following the committal service the family of Mrs. Cole invites friends to join them in the Whitley Funeral Home Annex Chapel for food and fellowship.
