Obituary: Helen Florene McCall Drye Davis, 94 of Concord, NC died at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis on Jan. 11, 2015. Helen was born on Feb. 15, 1920 in Greenville, Co., S.C., the daughter of the late William Alcia McCall and the late Ella Ree Whitt McCall. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, James Curtis Drye, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Helen was a lifelong member of First Baptist Ch. in Kannapolis. She retired after 40 years from the former Cannon Mills Co. where she worked in the Order Processing Dept. Helen often traveled to the beach, lake, mountains and she truly loved dancing. She was known for her love of family, especially during the holiday seasons. She is survived by her husband, James Horace Davis of the home, a step-son James Davis, Jr. of Nashville, TN, 5 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren, a sister, Evelyn McCall Powell Benson of Concord and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen has 2 "special" nieces who cared for many of her needs; Janice Nelson Powell of Tallahassee, FL and Lynne Powell Jones " of Concord. The service for Mrs. Davis will take place at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Thomas E Cabaniss. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30 before the service at Whitley's. Memorials can be made to: Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC, 28081
Visitation: 1:00-2:30 PM, Thursday January 15, 2015 Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 2:30 PM, Thursday January 15, 2015 Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park.
