Helen Kay Doyle

Obituary: Helen Kay Shulenberger Doyle, 79, of Charlotte, formerly of China Grove, passed away on Monday, January 1st, 2018, at home with her family. Born in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late John Miller Shulenberger and Minnie Morgan Shulenberger. She was educated in Landis High School and Lenoir Rhyne and worked in virology and microbiology for her entire career. Preceding her in death were her parents; and her sister, Donna Shulenberger Robertson. She is survived by her brother, Duard (Pee Wee) Shulenberger; her daughters, Lorna Doyle Kaplan and husband Rick of Charlotte, and Kim Doyle TaqTaq and husband Rami TaqTaq of Windsor, Canada; and grandchildren: Jamie Felts and Savanna Kaplan, and Matthew TaqTaq; and Katie, her little dog. A drop-in celebration of Helen's life and gathering of friends will be held Saturday, January 6th, 2018 from 10am - 12pm at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church chapel in China Grove, NC. Whitley's Funeral Home is assisting the family.
