Obituary: Helen Freeze Keever, 86, formerly of Enochville Ave. in Kannapolis, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at Magnolia Gardens in Spencer, after a period of declining health. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, Oct. 5 at Bethpage United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Portis and Rev. Duane Melton officiating and burial following at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 2:30 PM on Saturday, at other times they will be at the daughter's home. Helen was born October 29, 1926 in Rowan Co., a daughter of the late Coon and Carrie Craven Freeze. She was a life-long area resident and member of Bethpage United Methodist Church. Helen was employed for many years with Cannon Mills in the Wash Cloth Dept. Her family and friends will remember her with love. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Beryl Eugene Keever as well as 2 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by her son, Mike Keever of Kannapolis and her daughter, Tammy Eagle (Coy), grandchildren Carrie Eagle Yon (Brian) and Justin Eagle, all of China Grove, her great-grandchildren are Bailey and Trexler Yon and sister, Pauline Beaver of Kannapolis and many numerous nieces and nephews. Her children wish to give a special "Thank You" to her niece, Sissy Gail Widenhouse and husband, Bobby, for the special care and love that they showed Helen.
