Helen Tickle Pate

Obituary: Helen Tickle Pate, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Five Oaks Manor, Concord, NC. She was born August 18, 1926 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late W.A. Tickle and Myrtle Ann Jarrell Tickle. Helen was employed with the former Terry Products, Inc. for 13 years and the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant One, for 28 years until her retirement. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC. She is remembered by many for her love of cooking. Also, she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Pate on January 25, 2004; one daughter, Vicki Wagoner; and two sisters. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 22, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Gary Scoggins. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her son, Ray (Vickie) Pate of Kannapolis, NC; grandchildren, Wendy (Ray) Ninteau of Kannapolis, NC; Tim Pate of Charlotte, NC; Tracey (Kathy) Wagoner, Sr. of China Grove, NC; and Shelley Wagoner of Kannapolis, NC; great-grandchildren, Trey & Josiah Ninteau; Amber & Tracey Wagoner, Jr.; and Austin Wagoner; and a sister-in-law, Earlene Pate of Harrisburg, NC.
