Helen Mary Hubbard Price

Obituary: Helen Mary Hubbard Price, 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 30, 2012.She passed away surrounded with all of her loved ones standing by her side.Helen was born August 6, 1933 in Mecklenburg County to the late John Frank Hubbard and Catherine Fisher Hubbard. In her earlier years, she was a member of Landis Baptist Church for 35 years where she taught a first grade little girls Sunday School class for 30 years. She later became a member of Central Baptist Church in Kannapolis, NC. She loved spending time with her family, and always put them first; she was a loving and compassionate mother and grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be long remembered for her giving and caring ways. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, James Ervin "J.E." Price of the home; her loving and thankful children, Cathy P. Schmidt (John) of Concord, NC, Judy P. Abernethy (Frank) of China Grove, and James T. Price of China Grove; Six grandchildren, Julie M. Abernethy of Landis, Josh F. Abernethy of Mt. Ulla, NC, Tenille E. Schmidt of Charlotte, NC, Hunter B. Price of China Grove, NC, Haley M. Price of China Grove, NC, Jake T. Abernethy of China Grove, NC ; brothers, Gene Hubbard of Mooresville, NC, Harold Hubbard, Sr. (Sharon) of Huntersville, NC, Kenneth Hubbard (Gelisah) of Germany, Wade Hubbard, Sr. (Lucille) of Denver, NC, and Parks Hubbard (Myrna) of Mt. Ulla, NC; Sisters, Faye Hubbard Cain (Martin) of Huntersville, NC, Dorothy Hubbard Thompson(Bill) of China Grove, NC, Rachel Hubbard Knox of Huntersville, NC, Nancy Hubbard Long of Charlotte, NC, Edith Hubbard Williams of Charlotte, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Central Baptist Church with the Reverends Curtis Parker, Allen Reid, Steven Stinson , and Richard Horn officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 -2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Cheryl M. Weyers, Dr. Justin Swartz, and Dr. Michael B. Green and all the caring staff of Charlotte Medical Clinic Pulmonary Medicine.
