Obituary: Helen Crook Whitley, 90, of Kannapolis, passed away, Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Liberty Commons. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 24, at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Shoaf officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Monday prior to the service at Whitley's Funeral Home. She was born November 25, 1927 in Madison Co. GA to the late Richard B. Crook and Pearle Haralson. Helen worked at Cannon Mills Plant #1 in the wash cloth department for 45 years until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church, Kannapolis, and former member of Grace Covenant Church, Kannapolis where she taught Sunday school. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis M. Whitley in 2011, and four brothers. Those left to cherish her memories; three daughters Vickie W. Poteat (Keith) of China Grove, Jill W. Tucker (Louis) of Midland, Pamela W. Cochran (Charles) of Belmont, five grandchildren; Melissa Saul (Robert), Jennifer Waldecker (Kenneth) Clint Pittman (Shelby McGinnis), Crystal Tucker, Brandy Caudle(Robert), three great-grandchildren; Luke Saul (Brea), Matt Saul, Ella Waldecker.
