Obituary: Henry Crawford Corriher, 91 of China Grove died Tuesday January 11, 2011 at his residence. He was born April 10, 1919 in Rowan County, NC., a son of the late William Albert and Mary McLaughin Corriher. He is preceded in death by a brother, Ed Corriher, 2 sisters, Christine Corriher and Dora Morgan, half sister Alberta Fesperman and half brother Clyde Deal. Mr. Corriher was a farmer and a 29 year employee of Cannon Mills. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, served in the US Army during WWII and was a member of VFW Post 8989 Kannapolis. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Friday at Mt. Zion United Church of Christ with Rev. Jerry Moore, and Mr. Kenny Sides officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the services at the church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Corriher is survived by his wife Ellen Goodnight Corriher, a son; Von H. Corriher of the home; daughter, Sharon Gunther of China Grove, 2 Granddaughters; Anita Hallman (Scott) of Salisbury and Faith Gunther of China Grove; 2 brothers, Joel Corriher & William A. Corriher Jr. (Pauline) of China Grove and a sister Mary Sloan Flowers (Paul) of China Grove.
