Henry Lee Cox, 86, of Salisbury, passed away Monday evening, January 10, 2022, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, following a period of declining health.

Henry was born July 10, 1935, in Rowan County, a son of the late Roscoe Lindsey and Ethel May Bostian Cox. In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie White Cox; his brother, Boyce, and sister, Keebe.

Henry honorably served his country with the US Army and had retired from Celanese after many years of faithful service. He enjoyed fishing on his pontoon boat, crappie fishing with friends and having breakfast with his buddies at Jimmy’s Restaurant.  A devoted father, uncle and friend of many, Mr. Cox will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family members left with cherished memories include his “special” son, Willie Carter; his step son, Danny Haga (Judy), and their sons, Kenny and Daniel; special loved friend, Linda Privette;  nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Friday, January 14, 2022, at Whitley’s Funeral Home.  Funeral services to remember and give thanks for Mr. Cox life will begin at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will follow the services at Greenlawn Private Cemetery in China Grove, where he will be laid to rest beside his wife.
