Obituary: Henry E. Jenkins, 72, of Kannapolis died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at CMC-Northeast Medical Center, Concord following a period of declining health. Henry was born June 11, 1938 in Chesterfield County, SC a son of the late John McCoy Jenkins and Myrtle Irene Bertha Jewitt Jenkins. He managed rental properties, was a US Army veteran and a member of Eastwood Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Eastwood Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Randall Ritchie, pastor. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Whitley's Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the residence. Interment will be at Sunset Cemetery at a later date. He is survived by his wife of 29 years: Mona Golladay Jenkins of the home, three daughters: Shelby Juhaish, Peggy Sue (Mike) Bachman, and Barbara Ann Jenkins all of Kannapolis, three sons Danny (Angela) Jenkins of San Antonio, Jeffery Lee (Angela) Hannah of Bessemer City, and Bruce Jenkins of Charlotte. Also surviving are four brothers: Don (Bonnie) Jenkins of Kannapolis, Joe (Pam) Jenkins of Gastonia, Broadus Jenkins of Kannapolis and Connie Mac Jenkins of Rockingham, and one sister: Virginia (Johnny) Jones of Kannapolis. Fourteen grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren also survive. Memorials may be made to Eastwood Baptist Church, 320 Cook Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
