Obituary: Henry Jeremiah "Sunny" Kluttz, Jr., age 75, of Kannapolis died Friday, October 26, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House after a 25 year period of declining health. A funeral service celebrating Sunny's life will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, October 28 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dodd Parrish officiating. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 1:30 to 2:30 PM prior to the funeral. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. Sunny was born February 18, 1943 in Rowan Co., the son of the late Henry J. Kluttz, Sr. and Pearl Trexler Kluttz. In addition to his parents, Sunny was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Saxon. He was a life-long area resident and worked as an over-hauler for Cannon Mills Co. and Parkdale Mills until he retired on disability in 1997. Sunny loved to mow grass and take care of his horses. He enjoyed spending time at High Rock Lake and Myrtle Beach with his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed. Those who will cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years, Ruth Costner Kluttz of the home; his daughter, Annette K. Garmon (Gerald) of Lexington, his son, Tommy Kluttz of Kannapolis and his daughter, Glenda K. Martin (Randy) of China Grove; his 7 grandchildren, Ashley B. Smith (Jack), Sara, Zachary and Logan Garmon; and Taylor, Hunter and Chase Martin as well as 3 great-grandchildren; Daniel Goad, Jack Smith III and Alyssa Smith.
