Henry Eugene Mayhew

Obituary: Henry Eugene Mayhew, 57, died Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Five Oaks Nursing Home. Henry was born January 12, 1957 in Iredell County to the late Arnold Mayhew and Olean S. Sherrill who survives. He worked in retail sales and was of the Presbyterian Faith. Survivors include his mother, Olean S. Sherrill of the home; step-sister, Ranna (Pat) Platt and Sadie Moon both of Concord, NC; step-brother, Michael David Sherrill of Holden Beach, NC; and an uncle, Robert Lee Stancil of Newland, NC. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Oscar Sherrill; and three step-brothers, Ted Sherrill, Wade Sherrill, and Mickey Sherrill. A memorial graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 8, 2014 at Carolina Memorial Park with Rev. Mike Hubbard officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Online condolences may be left at whitleysfuneralhome.com
