Obituary: Kannapolis, NC-Henry Arnold Parham, Sr., 72, of 321 Northdale Ave., Kannapolis died at his home on Saturday, April 11, 2009. Mr. Parham was born on December 7, 1936 in Franklin Co., Ga., the son of the late Henry Grady Parham and the late Lizzie Flemming Parham. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Era Parham. Mr. Parham retired from Cannon Mills Co. after 45 years of service working last as a computer programmer. He enjoyed fishing, boating and woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Martha Long "Polly" Parham of the home. A son, Henry A. Parham, Jr. of Mooresville, NC and a daughter, Becky Stewart and husband, Eric of Trinity, NC. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Nicole Tucker, Allison Tucker, Henry Alexander Parham and Sara Abigail Parham and by 4 great-grandchildren, Lydia, Marilyn, Lacey and Dylan. He is also survived by four brothers: Doc Parham, Jasper Parham, Bill Parham and Lee Parham. The funeral service for Mr. Parham will take place at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 15th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Dwayne Melton. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Whitley's and at other times will be at the family home.
