Henry Allen Sherrill

Obituary: Henry Allen Sherrill, 71, of Enochville, NC lost his hard fought battle with cancer on Feb. 9, 2014 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Henry was born on July 13, 1942 in Cabarrus County, son of the late James Everette and the late Mary Ellen Reese Sherrill. He was a 1960 graduate of Landis High School; a member of Homestead Baptist Church, enjoyed tending to his garden, watching NASCAR races and spending time with his only granddaughter, Sawyer Sherrill. Henry was the most well rounded maintenance man in the area, retiring from Alcoa in 2010. The service for Mr. Sherrill will be held at 8:00 PM, Friday, February 14, 2014 at Homestead Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Mitch Thomas, Rev. Terry Brown and Rev. Buck Canupp. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM at the church before the service. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Sarah Lou Reed Sherrill; sons, Tommy Sherrill (Janet) and Jeff Sherrill (Charlene); and granddaughter, Sawyer. He is also survived by a brother, James E. Sherrill, Jr. (Dottie) and sisters, Mary Frances Carlson (Bill) and Mildred Faye Mills. The family would like to give a special "thank you" for the excellent care given by Sharon Holt, RN, members of the Rowan Hospice, and the staff at the Tucker Hospice House.
