Obituary: Burris, Jr., Herbert A. China Grove, NC- Herbert A. Burris, Jr., age 59, died Friday, April 16, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC after a period of serious illness. He was born July 29, 1950 in Iredell County, NC, the son of the Herbert Alexander Burris, Sr. and Barbara Belk Burris. He was a 1968 graduate of South Rowan High School, one year at Catawba College, and finished his education at Charlotte Business College. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife of 37 years, Jan Freeman Burris; two sisters, Lynn Burris Sawyer & husband, Terry of Salisbury, NC and Pam Burris Strother & husbaand, Tom of China Grove, NC; and four nieces & nephews.
