Herman David Pete Drye

Obituary: Herman David "Pete" Drye, 83 of 2810 Maryland Avenue died March 20, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord from complications of a fall. He was born May 13, 1926 in Cabarrus County, son of the late Richard Lewis and Cora Lee Osborne Drye. He was a Charter member of Sharon Baptist Church of Concord. He truly was a Man of God which was shown to everyone who knew him and loved him. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was a Veteran of WW2 serving with the US Navy. He retired from Ronson Hydraulics in 1989 after 15 years of service. He enjoyed trips to the mountains. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Sharon Baptist Church, Concord conducted by Dr. Jim Strickland. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home Tuesday, March 23 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. At other times the family will be at the residence. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Peggy G. Drye, one Son: Eric Drye and wife Dena of Concord, a Daughter: Angie Mullis of Kannapolis and four grandchildren: Holly Mullis, Taylor Drye, Drew Mullis, and Karrigan Drye.
