He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph. He was a 1952 graduate of Woodleaf School. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1957 to 1963 where he was stationed at Ft. Jackson, Ft. Riley and in Baumholder, Germany. He later owned and operated Salisbury Meat Center, Cuthiel's Meats and Select Meats in Kannapolis. For many years he enjoyed processing the beef raised at the Biltmore House in Asheville. He was extremely happy when Biltmore called him and told him he had been recommended by the Doctors in Raleigh who were over all the meat plants in North Carolina. He always made lifetime friends with his customers and worked until his failing health forced him to retire. He always said if you love what you do, it's not work. He helped many people stay in business and even took strangers in when they lost their businesses. He always gave more to others than he ever took from his business. He was always so happy when all the family came home and for many years several adult family members lived with him. He enjoyed motorcross racing with his son, Gerald. He also enjoyed taking mini trips throughout the southeast area and enjoyed camping at the SC beaches. During his retirement years he spent a lot of time at the NC outerbanks visiting family and friends and riding in his golf cart visiting neighbors at the coast. Cuthiel was a member of Kannapolis West A Church of God and he loved his church and especially the wonderful music of the choir.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 at Kannapolis Church of God officiated by Rev.
