Hilda Diane Gainey

Hilda Diane Gainey, 67 years old, of Kannapolis, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 28, 2024.  Hilda was born on December 16, 1956, in Cabarrus County to the late Buddy Demy and Mary Gainey.

Hilda retired from Cannon Mills after many years of working as a custodian for them.  When she was not working, Hilda loved to fish, go shopping, work in her yard, and watch the Andy Griffth Show and western movies.

Besides being predeceased by her parents, Hilda was also predeceased by her brother, Thomas Demy.  Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Dianie Quinn and her husband Havis; her son, Tommy Dixon; her grandchildren, Zulaikhah White, Adam White, and Jaylan Cannon;  her sister-in-law, Virginia Demy, and her beloved cat Cookie.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 12-2pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home, with a service to follow at 2pm in the Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Chambers officiating.  Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove.

Memorials can be made in Hilda’s memory to Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute.
