Hilda Sherrill Hudson

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC In the still of the night I am tired, I am ready to come home; Lord, please take me.On Thursday, February 28, 2019 Hilda Sherrill Hudson entered the gates of Heaven. Hilda was born January 23, 1933 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late Gilbert Lee and Chattie Marie Marlow Sherrill. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Mable, Myrtle, Ruth and Marie along with a grandchild, Ashley Shawn Hudson and a deceased great grandchild, Baby Logan. Funeral services for Mrs. Hudson will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 4, 2019 at Parkwood Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Michael Waters, Rev. Darrell Coble and Rev. Steve Davis. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Family members left to cherish Hilda's memory are her husband of 67 years, Ernest Lee Hudson, Sr. of the home, daughter; Lisa Haigler Hoots of Kannapolis, two sons, Tony Hudson and wife Rita of Concord and Ernie Hudson of Coco Beach, Fla. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Anthony Hudson and Michelle Martin both of Concord, Charlyn Fagerberg and husband Scott of Concord, and Michael Cain of Kernersville. Five great-great grandchildren; Tyler Martin, Isabelle Fagerberg, Emma Fagerberg, Ashely Hudson and Damon Hudson also survive. Hilda was a charter member of Parkwood Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She enjoyed baking and was known for her excellent cakes. The family would like to express their thanks to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County and to the members of Parkwood Baptist Church for their many expressions of love and care of Hilda and her family during her illness.
