Obituary: Homer Lee Fink,Jr., 83, of Kannapolis passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at his home. He was born January 26, 1930 in Cabarrus County, the son of the late Homer Lee Fink, Sr. and Eva Helen Hawkins Fink. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lee Fink and a brother, Doug Fink.. H.L. graduated from Winecoff High School. He was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church. H.L. was a retired veteran of the NC Army National Guard for 34 years and worked at the National Guard Armory in Concord for 31 years where he was a Warrant Officer-4. He loved fishing and playing golf. In his earlier years, he played baseball and was part of the American Legion team in Kannapolis that won the National Championship in 1946. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 at North Kannapolis Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Chris O'Guin and Rev. R.J. Hammond. The family will receive friends at the church prior from 10 to 11 at church. He is survived by his wife, Hallie Lefler Fink, his daughter, Crystal O'Guin (Chris) , four grandchildren; Michelle Sloop (Kevin), Brittany Ritchie (Alan), Joel O'Guin (Paige), Jared O'Guin, 5 great grandchildren; Emily, Alison and Karson Sloop, Crew and Cash Ritchie, and two brothers, Ed Fink and William "Bill" Fink.
