Howard Caldwell Linker

Obituary: Howard Caldwell "H.C." Linker, Jr. 73, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House following a period of declining health. He was born April 26, 1941 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late Howard C. Linker, Sr. and the late Naomi Kerley Linker Payne. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Judy Hartsell Linker on May 22, 2008, a son, Richard "Buddy" Caldwell, and a daughter, Maxine Linker. H.C. was employed for a number of years with Asplundh Tree Company and later with Cannon Mills Company prior to his retirement. Survivors include two sons, Danny Linker (Karen) of Concord, and William Linker of Raleigh, two daughters, Barbara Miller (Toby) of Kannapolis and Donna Morris of China Grove. He is also survived by three sisters, Maxine Bittles and Sylvia Swing both of Kannapolis, and Becky Gearing of Salisbury, two brothers, Larry Payne and Billy Payne both of Kannapolis, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. A Visitation for Mr. Linker will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Whitley's Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
