Howard Edward Meeks, Jr.

Obituary: Mr. Howard Meeks Jr., 82, of Kannapolis passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 after a brief illness. He was born December 28, 1932 in Nelson County, Virginia to the late Howard and Helen Falls Meeks. Howard enjoyed showing cars at the Cruise-In and Car Shows. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Judy S. Meeks. Survivors include his sisters, Shelia Small of Waynesboro, Virginia and Zane Hardy of Salem, Virginia; best friend and caregiver Sherry Hicks of Kannapolis, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel with Rev. Johnny Canup officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.
